Trade show Agriflor 2019 was an important meeting point for Ecuador’s flower industry. Ecualand attended the trade show to review product, production, and technology developments across the sector.
Held at the Quito Exhibition Center, the event brought together Ecuadorian and international exhibitors working in flower production, technology, logistics, and design.
Areas that drew our attention included:
- New flower varieties: growers presented a broad selection of species and cultivars, illustrating continued product development in Ecuador.
- Production technology: exhibitors showed irrigation, fertilization, pest-management, and postharvest systems intended to improve production processes. Their suitability and environmental benefit depend on implementation and evidence.
- Sustainability initiatives: the program highlighted environmental practices such as water-efficiency projects and selected organic-production approaches. Buyers can request current certification details directly from each exhibitor or supplier.
Agriflor 2019 gave Ecualand an opportunity to learn, meet other industry participants, and review developments relevant to our sourcing and logistics work.
